Premiere: Timpani Concerto, Wim Henderickx
When composer Wim Henderickx died suddenly in December 2022, there were a number of almost-finished compositions on his work table. For Brussels Philharmonic and good friend timpanist Gert François, Wim had been working on a concept for a timpani concerto for some time. His long-time musical assistant, Diederik Glorieux, prepared this score - in close consultation with Wim's family - for performance. Since 2004, Wim's wife Bea Steylaerts was his business and practical right-hand man.
